Men may dismiss urinary changes as ageing, stress or simply “drinking too much water.” Discuss persistent symptoms with a healthcare professional, particularly: • difficulty starting urination • a weak or interrupted urine stream • needing to strain • feeling that the bladder has not emptied • urinating frequently, especially at night • sudden urgency • pain or burning • blood in the urine • leakage or loss of control These symptoms can have several causes. They do not automatically mean prostate cancer. However, self-diagnosing or repeatedly postponing an evaluation may delay appropriate treatment.
